For Annual Renewals and All Existing Rental Permits

Search

If you’ve been issued an Entity #, you may search for an existing Rental Permit using this module. A Rental Application and fee is required every year prior to that Rental Permit being renewed. Certificates of Compliance are valid for 3 years, but may be submitted more regularly to avoid disruptions with your permitting. Click Here to download a fillable PDF containing both documents that are needed for processing.

  1. Download the fillable PDF, fill it out and save it.

  2. Use the search tool to find your entity (provided), upload the document and pay your balance.

  3. If new/additional fees are due, you may receive an invoice via email after your application has been reviewed. You can use the search tool or use the link in the invoice to pay any remaining balance.
NOTE: If asked for an Access Code, enter in the Entity #

Prior to issuing a Rental Permit the Building Official shall inspect the property from the exterior. At least once every three years the interior shall be inspected as well to ensure the safety and welfare of tenants living in the community. There are three options for completing the interior inspection requirements:

  1. Coordinate to have the City Inspector perform the inspection.

  2. Hire a third-party inspector to perform the inspection and sign the Certificate of Compliance.

  3. The Property Owner or Manager can perform the inspection and sign the Certificate of Compliance themselves. This is the preferred method for most.

The purpose of this Certificate of Compliance is to certify that the dwelling unit is in compliance with City standards and regulations. It also provides the means by which the City verifies that the property is in a safe, livable condition. By signing, you are stating that the home does not contain any known hazards or conditions, which would negatively affect quality of life and/or general welfare of the tenants or surrounding neighborhood.
